Who we are

We are a team deeply committed to meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of young people and their families. With extensive experience in the Wilderness Road Therapeutic Camping Association (WRTCA) philosophy, we share a strong conviction that wilderness, structure, and discipleship can be powerful tools for transformation, healing, and growth.

At Headwaters, we also carry a deep desire to continue the legacy of Cameron Boys Camp. We honor the remarkable people who gave the property, carried the vision, and poured themselves fully into the work of bringing hope and wholeness to youth and families. We remember with gratitude the countless donors, staff, Chiefs, and Campers who gave their blood, sweat, tears, time, resources, and love to this mission. They cut wood, faced challenges, shared adventures, solved problems, and cared well for one another.

Their legacy matters. We seek to honor that foundation by carrying forward the same spirit of sacrifice, faith, courage, and hope.

Drew Scott serves as Executive Director of The Headwaters Group, bringing over 25 years of direct experience and education in wilderness camping and therapeutic outdoor ministry. Throughout his career, he has been deeply committed to building programs that combine structure, challenge, mentorship, and faith to create lasting transformation in young lives.

Drew’s leadership is grounded in his love for Jesus Christ, devotion to his family, and lifelong belief in the power of wilderness to restore identity, strengthen character, heal families, and guide people toward purpose. Drew and his family live in Moore County NC, where they have served families in need from all over North Carolina.
